Nomos Tetra: Models and Prices. New, used, vintage.

Nomos Tetra

A form that catches the eye: with a square case, the Nomos Tetra easily stands out from the crowd and incorporates a style-savvy accent into any ensemble. This model is derived from the famous Nomos Glashütte manufactory and is aimed towards bold individuals who do not only appreciate clever design, but also high-quality mechanics.

Square, stylish, sensible

Tetra – an exceptional model by Nomos

Loading...

Nomos Glashütte began production in 1992 with four basic models. Among them were the Tangente, Orion, Ludwig, and the extraordinary Tetra. In addition to the Nomos Lux, the Tetra is the only other model among the entire collection that is not comprised of the renowned circular case.

The form of the watch has adopted many aspects from the traditional Nomos Tangente, but nevertheless, exudes a stylish character of its own. The angular case of the watch exquisitely contrasts the sleek running hands.

The overall design of the timepiece convinces with consistent harmony and a relaxed balance. It is a unique and style-conscious addition to any collection.

Tetra from Nomos Glashütte

Unconditional Beauty: not surprisingly, Nomos Glashütte favours producing universally appealing timepieces that can be worn by men and women alike. The gender-neutral design elements of the timepieces ensure that the everyday models can be paired with countless styles.

The particularly delicate Tetra is a watch that leans on the delicate side. The case is strikingly smaller than most Nomos watches that measure 27.55 mm by 27.5 mm. The overall design is versatile yet grants a certain level of soft charm and grace. Considering the Tetra is a mechanical watch, it is comprised of an impressively flat case. Furthermore, the lugs of the watch measure a delicate 18 mm and by doubling the watch horns, a narrower strap can be attached to the watch.

29.5 mm x 29.5 mm

The large Tetra

The Tetra is available in two different sizes. The larger version measures 29.5 mm by 29.5 mm (Ref. 406 and Ref. 408). The shape of the watch relies on a straightforward design and foregoes striking gemstones, mother-of-pearl dials, and various other embellishments ensuring that the eye is not detracted from the fundamentally basic design features of the watch. At the heart of the Tetra runs the Alpha calibre with manual winding. Tempered blue steel hands are fitted to the dial of the watch, which is enclosed by a robust sapphire crystal.

Clärchen, Goldelse, Nachtijall and Kleene

Nomos Tetra 27

With a case that measures 27.5 mm by 27.5 mm, the Tetra 27 is very well suited for delicate wrists. The timepiece simply convinces with a white and grey-silvered dial that is complemented by blue tempered hands and an excellent Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap that is characteristic of the Nomos Glashütte line. The Tetra 27 Karat is an extra chic model that comes equipped with a fine polished and gold-coated dial and hands. The watch is perfectly suited for those who slightly want to turn heads in the direction of their wrist.

Individuality is a priority at Nomos Glashütte. Therefore, the Tetra line is diversified with varying coloured dials such as the Tetra Clärchen with a baize green dial (Ref. 489). In addition to gold-plated hands, the wristwatch is complemented with a grey suede band that is perfectly representative of Berlin style. Further variations of the collection include the Goldelse that is fitted with a rosé gold shimmering dial (Ref. 491), the Nachtijall in dark blue (Ref. 490) and the Kleene with a turquoise dial and golden hands (Ref. 492). The Tetra Zartbitter – the German word for bittersweet – stands true to its name with a dark dial and a chocolate brown wristband (Ref. 487). Shaped by minimalism, the variations of the Tetra watch collection impress with first-class technical understanding and a characteristic Nomos Glashütte design.

The Special edition Tetra 27

Nomos Glashütte actively supports charities including Doctors Without Borders. With pieces limited to 1,000 copies, the limited edition is bestowed with the same name – Tetra 27 – and has the principle objective of collecting as many donations for Doctors Without Borders as possible. For each special edition Tetra 27 (Ref. 401.S2) that is sold, 100 Euros are donated to aid the organisation. Thus, the traditional company supports educated doctors in ensuring medical care for those residing in conflict areas. Special features of the watch include a red twelve o’clock marker and “Doctors Without Borders” lettering below the 6 o’clock marker. The special engraving on the case back of the watch also distinguishes the Tetra 27 as a popular collector’s item.
